I thought you might find writing an article about Melanie Stise the youngest (21) dance team coach of the NBA D-League for the Mad Ants interesting.

I started subscribing to Fort Wayne Monthly earlier this year and have truly enjoyed it!

I would love to see a story or large article about social media in Fort Wayne and some of the web design firms.

Also, in terms of a feature, Kelly Heller that owns the downtown furniture boutique, House of Furniture is doing amazing things and would be an excellent, dynamic story. House-of-furniture.net

Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the ideas! I have already visited House of Furniture and brought Kelly's card back so I can look for a way to include her expertise in a story. And social media is an excellent, timely topic, too. I'll bring both ideas up in our planning meetings.

I would love to see an article about Arbor Homes, a Fort Wayne home construction company that is building the most beautiful arts and crafts revival homes in southwest Fort Wayne. We discovered this neighborhood by accident, which has streets lined with blue, green, and pumpkin colored houses with ornate craftsman elements. Other builders are also mimicking their style. It's like walking down a street in the 1930's when everything was new. Check it out in the Bridgewater Subdivision off Illinois Road just past Hamilton Road.

I am co-founder of a new publishing company called TwinStar Media. Me and my co-founder are both from Fort Wayne and opened the business late last year. We are also brother in-laws to boot so I thought that might be a good spin on a story! You can check out our website at www.twinstaronline.com

Thank you for your consideration.

I saw on your editorial calendar that you are doing a Dynamic Duos feature later this year. Might I suggest you consider Danielle and Alex Kiefer? A work-from-home mom, she was part of an award-winning graphic design team this year and is active in the revitalizing of their historic Rudisill/Foster Park neighborhood. He is CFO for a local non-profit and was named one of 40 under 40 this year. All this while raising their two young daughters. They are my superheroes!

Thanks for your suggestion! We will definitely add them to the list of duos we consider for this fall's feature. Connie

I have a suggestion for an article about a local personal chef who prepares signature seven course dinners for clients who want to entertain guests in a unique, memorable way. Chef Eric Braun will do all of the menu planning, shopping, food preparation and his team will serve the meal in the comfort of your home along with wine pairings. It's a fun way to entertain friends or business clients and KneedaChef is the only company in the region who offers this type of culinary service. Chef Eric also offers personal cooking classes and wine classes. Just gather four or more friends and plan your event. Please visit www.kneedachef.com for more information.

Thank you for calling our attention to this wonderful resource in our city! We are looking for a way to feature KneedaChef in a story.

A suggestion for your Dynamic Duo piece. Here at First Pres we have recently hired our first ever husband/wife pastoral team, Revs. Jeff and Arianne Lehn, and they are doing a great job of revitlizing this old congregation.

Thanks for the tip! We will add them to the list of potential duos.

Very disappointed in the August issue "we're making it" Front cover photography and story very boring and dark, not up to the usual standards of this wonderful magazine.

Like to suggest an article on the Fort wayne Astronomical Society.

The Fort Wayne Astronomical Society (FWAS) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded and incorporated in 1959, with 60 founding members. It celebrated its 50th anniversary the same year as the world celebrated the International Year of Astronomy (2009), celebrating 400 years since Galileo first pointed a telescope (invented the year before) toward the night sky and began recording what he was seeing. The club owns a 16 inch Meade Telescope and is opened to the public every clear Saturday evening from April through November at its new location in Jefferson Township Park, never charging a fee for their services. Come bring the family and see the planets and deep space objects such as Galaxies and Nebulas.

Connie,
Not sure if its too late for your October Magazine but Pine Valley Country Club is hosting a new event open to the public this year. The Top Drawer Trunk Show will be on October 30th and will feature crafted materials from local members of the community. Thought this might be a cool feature for the fall season! Let me know if you're interested and I can send you more details!

Thanks!
Ashley

Story Sugguestion: I wanted to share with you a very special musical experience that is related to music therapy in the Fort Wayne community. Music therapy is the clinical and evidenced-based practice which recently received more media attention when Former Congress woman Gabby Giffords received the therapy as part of her recovery.

In Fort Wayne Ferraro Behavior Services in hosting its second musical production. We will be will hosting Beauty and the Beast showcasing the talents and abilities of individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities. Each one of our performers has been working very hard throughout the year to improve their overall communication, enunciation, social, and motor skills through the use of music therapy. These individuals can relate to the classic story of Beauty and the Beast where they may look or feel different based on their disability but when one can get past the outward diagnosis and find the person within much like the beast in the story. Come share in their magical journey.

Music therapy is a powerful medium that has helped individuals with a variety of disabilites, even former Congress Woman Gabby Giffords. Fort Wayne is blessed with an abundance of music therapists that are working h! ard with individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, and many other disorders to help them become as independent as possible. This musical production showcases just how powerful music therapy can be in enhancing and devloping their skills. It would be very beneficial to the Fort Wayne community to be more aware of the current services and the powerful impact that they have on those around us.

It would be so meaningful to all of our families and those in the area who are not familiar with the service to highlight this event. The event specifics are listed below but I would be more than happy to sit down with someone and share just what music therapy can do. I can tell you from our previous performances that there is not a dry eye in the standing room only facility. Our clients leave their with a smile and their face and the feeling of accomplishment and achievement which does not come easy for them.
